Wolves make decision on Jackson Tchatchoua's future amid Serie A interest

Jackson Tchatchoua is reportedly set to remain at Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer, despite interest from Serie A in the full-back.

Tchatchoua joined Wolves from Hellas Verona last summer and went on to make 31 Premier League appearances as the club were relegated from the top flight.

The 24-year-old was one of several players expected to depart Molineux over the course of the transfer window, with a number of Italian clubs said to be interested.

Of those, Torino were reported to be the frontrunners to secure Tchatchoua's signature, with the Serie A side said to have been preparing an offer for an initial season-long loan with option to buy.

However, according to a report from Africafoot, Wolves have since reversed their stance on letting Tchatchoua depart, and the 24-year-old is now poised to remain in the West Midlands.

Tchatchoua was named on the bench for Wolves' Championship opener at home to Blackburn Rovers last week, with Cesar Peixoto preferring summer signing Kieran Trippier on the right side of defence.

He later appeared as a second-half substitute, replacing the former England international in the closing stages before Raul Jimenez netted a stoppage-time penalty to rescue a point for the hosts.

It later emerged that Trippier could spend up to six weeks on the sidelines after picking up an injury, potentially opening the door for Tchatchoua to enjoy an extended run of games in the starting XI.
