Wolves linked with summer move for Serie A striker

Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to undergo an important transfer window this summer following their relegation to the Championship, as the club seek an immediate return to the Premier League.

Having already replaced head coach Rob Edwards will the relatively unknown figure of Portuguese coach Cesar Peixoto, Wolves will now be looking to build a squad capable of earning Championship promotion this season.

There are likely to be several high-profile exits from Molineux this summer following the club's relegation to the second tier, however Wolves are reportedly eyeing an ambitious move for an international striker from Serie A during the transfer window.

Wolves plot ambitious Che Adams swoop

Wolves saw key attacking talent depart Molineux last season, the exits of Matheus Cunha and Jorgen Strand Larsen hit the club particularly hard as they finished bottom of the Premier League, scoring a league low 27 goals in the process.

Adam Armstrong and Hwang Hee-Chan managed just four goals between them during the campaign and goals will need to be a particular focus during the transfer window for Wolves.

One interesting name linked with a move to Wolves this summer is Scotland striker Che Adams, who is currently with his national team at the World Cup.

Adams currently turns out for Serie A outfit Torino, but reports in the Italian press suggest the 29-year-old is seeking a return to England during this transfer window.

If Wolves can pull of the signing of Adams they would be welcoming a prolific goalscorer at Championship level; in his last two campaigns in the second tier Adams has scored 38 times in 86 matches.

It is claimed Torino are seeking a fee in excess of €5m this summer, something that would be unlikely to trouble Wolves, who will benefit from parachute payments following their Premier League relegation last term.

Wolves face competition for Adams' signature from another Serie A side Venezia, who are believed to have already tabled a bid for the Scotland international.

If Adams is seeking a return to England this summer and he was available at the quoted fee, it is likely there will be more interest developing for his services from clubs in the second tier during the window.
