Emma Raducanu's participation in Wimbledon has been thrown into doubt following reports of the Brit missing practice and wearing an orthopaedic boot.
Raducanu enjoyed a promising start to the grass season, reaching the final at Queen's, losing in the final to Donna Vekic.
The 2021 US Open winner is the 28/1 joint-ninth favourite for success at SW19, but her participation now appears to be in jeopardy.
Raducanu has reportedly not practised at Wimbledon since Monday and was scheduled to play at midday on Thursday, but left Aorangi Park wearing a protective boot on her right leg on Wednesday evening.
Speaking to CLAY, Thomas Houchin, Raducanu's agent, attempted to play down concerns on Wednesday, saying: "Emma is absolutely fine. She will play tomorrow,"
Houchin did not explain the reason for the protective boot, and Raducanu again missing practice suggests she's a long way from full fitness ahead of the singles draw, which takes place at 10am on Friday.
Raducanu is currently seeded 30th ahead of Friday's draw after a difficult 2026. Since reaching the final of the Transylvania Open in Romania in February, Raducanu had won just one of her seven matches in the run-up to Queen's, where she beat Sorana Cirstea and Iva Jovic in straight sets en route to the final.
The 23-year-old, whose young career has been plagued with several injury issues, missed Wimbledon in 2023 but reached the fourth round in 2024 and the third round last year, where she lost in straight sets to world number one Aryna Sabalenka.
