This year's Commonwealth Games were moved from Victoria, Australia to Glasgow, Scotland due to soaring costs, with the cost projection jumping from A$2.6bn to A$6bn.
As a result of this, Glasgow received the games at short notice and have had to cut a few events from the 2022 edition in Birmingham.
In total, eleven events have been cut from the 2022 lineup, you can find them below:
As a result of these being removed due to the lack of time to organise the event, this is the fewest number of sports on offer at the Commonwealth Games since Canada 1994.
Lawn bowls remains on the schedule, however it will be played in the indoor bowls format, rather than the traditional lawn bowls format.
The 2026 Games will however featured the largest number of Para sports events in Commonwealth Games history, with 47 finals spread across six different sports.
