The 2026 Commonwealth Games will be operating a reduced schedule compared to previous editions.
Glasgow 2026 will feature a 10-sport programme concentrated across four venues in the Scottish city, which includes the compulsory Athletics and Swimming.
The sports list is significantly leaner than the programme on offer at Birmingham 2022, which consisted of 20 different sports.
The reason why Glasgow are unable to offer a roster as comprehensive as what Birmingham staged is due to the lack of preparation time. Scotland's largest city was only approved as the host city in October 2024 after the Australia state of Victoria withdrew as hosts due to rising costs.
It means a number of sports have been axed from the Commonwealth Games programme. You can find all of the events that are not included at this year's Games here.
The compulsory sports of Athletics and Swimming host the largest number of events on the schedule.
Of the full-sided team sports, only netball will be held, although the short-sided 3x3 versions of basketball are included.
The 2026 Games will feature the largest number of Para sport events in Commonwealth Games history, with 47 finals across six sports.
