The domestic season in England commenced with the first round of the EFL Cup as 35 teams from across the Championship, League One and League Two secured their progression to the second round.
Those 35 first-round winners will now be joined by the 11 Premier League teams not competing in Europe this season: Brentford, Chelsea, Fulham, Newcastle United, Everton, Leeds United, Nottingham Forest, Tottenham Hotspur, Coventry City, Ipswich Town and Hull City.
Like the first-round draw, the second round of the EFL Cup will be regionalised, with teams split into northern and southern sections.
Second round EFL Cup ties will be played in the week commencing Monday 24th August.
When is the EFL Cup second round draw?
The second-round draw for the 2026/27 EFL Cup will begin at approximately 19:20 BST on Monday 10th August.

The EFL Cup second-round draw will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Ultra HDR prior to Plymouth Argyle's first round clash against local rivals Exeter City.
