Jean-Clair Todibo looks set to leave West Ham before next week's transfer deadline.
Todibo has been repeatedly linked with a move away from the London Stadium this summer, just twelve months after joining the club on a permanent deal.
The 26-year-old refused to play in the final game of last season, opting not to feature in West Ham's Premier League finale against Leeds.
That move effectively ended his career under Nuno Espirito Santo, but finding a buyer for the two-cap France international has proven far from straightforward.
Juventus are said to have earmarked Todibo should Gleison Bremer depart the club, while Marseille are also said to be interested in signing the centre-back.
While the latter appeared to be the more likely option at one stage, recent reports from France have claimed that the club simply do not have the funds to make an offer to sign him permanently.
West Ham are understood to be determined to seal a permanent exit for Todibo, who joined the club from Nice in the summer of 2024 on an initial loan before completing a £35million transfer the following year.
However, it appears that all hope for the Hammers is not lost as they look to get any potential move over the line.
According to Claret & Hugh, Aston Villa are currently in advanced talks to sign the Frenchman, with the deal likely to be structured as a loan with obligation to purchase.
Should Todibo make the move to Villa Park he would become the club's sixth senior signing of the summer.
