West Ham United and Wrexham are in the race to sign left-back Jacques Ekomie from Ligue 1 side Angers.
Journalist Pete O'Rourke has reported that the two Championship sides have an interest in signing the player.
"West Ham are ready to join Wrexham in the hunt for Angers left-back Jacques Ekomie as they have targeted him as a potential replacement for Brentford target El Hadji Malick Diouf.
"Hamburg are also interested in Ekomie with Angers open to selling the defender."
Ekomie joined Angers from Bordeaux in the summer of 2024 and he has made 41 appearances for the club.
The 23-year-old full-back has also represented the Gabon national side on 22 occasions.
West Ham face the prospect of losing El Hadji Malick Diouf to Brentford in the coming days following reports that the Bees are preparing an improved offer.
The Hammers see Ekomie as a direct replacement as they get used to life in the Championship following last season's relegation.
Meanwhile, Wrexham are also looking to strengthen their squad before the transfer window closes as Phil Parkinson looks to mount a play-off challenge this season.
