West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen has confirmed he will stay at the club after they suffered relegation from the Premier League on the final day of last season.
The 29-year-old, who has scored 85 goals in 280 appearances for the club, has been the subject of a lot of transfer speculation since the Hammers lost their top-flight status, but Bowen has put any doubts to bed with a video on the official website.
The England international said: "My main motivation is staying and bringing this club back to the Premier League where we belong.
"For me, when you're here for a longer amount of time, you gain more affection, you grow into the club more, you grow into your role more and more, and I think that's what I've done.
"I've been here six and a half years and transitioned from a boy to a man and I've never tried to hide away from anything.
"I always try and stand up for them and just kind of live my life as captain of West Ham and also as a fan as well."
Nuno Espirito Santo's side are favourites to secure an immediate return to the top tier by winning the Championship title and their odds have shortened even further following the news.
bet365’s Steve Freeth said: "It looked for a while that Bowen was staying at his beloved West Ham, but the official confirmation has seen punters go into overdrive in backing the East London club to make an instant return, with their talisman staying put."
