Millwall are close to signing a Scotland international forward as they prepare for another Championship promotion battle.
According to exclusive reports by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Lions have convinced second tier stalwart Lyndon Dykes to make the switch to The Den ahead of the beginning of the 2026/27 campaign.
Dykes, 30, scored five goals in 18 Championship starts after signing for Charlton on a short-term deal last January and brings with him a wealth of experience, racking up more than 200 EFL appearances.
Although he was born more than 9,000 miles away in Australia, Dykes' parents are from Dumfries and he chose to represent Scotland at international level. In May, he was selected by Steve Clarke to form part of Scotland's 26-man squad for the World Cup, featuring off the bench against Haiti and Morocco.
Romano broke the news via his X account, saying: "Excl: Scotland striker Lyndon Dykes has agreed to join Millwall among several proposals.
"Deal verbally done with medical and formal steps to follow."
Should the deal go through, then Dykes would be a welcome addition to the Lions' squad.
Serbia international Mihailo Ivanovic took the lion's share of the striking minutes under Alex Neil last season, but was well supported by Josh Coburn, both forwards grabbing nine goals each.
Guadeloupe international Tairyk Arconte is an interesting pick-up from French outfit Rodez, but at just 22, it is expected that he will be afforded some time to adapt.
With no forward over the age of 23 in the squad, Dykes' experience is sure to be of great value to Neil's men.
Millwall performed exceptionally well in the Championship last season, narrowly missing out on automatic promotion to the Premier League before being downed by eventual playoff winners Hull City at the semi-final stage.
The Lions are 13/8 to repeat the feat and finish amongst the playoff places; newly-extended to include six teams from third down to eighth.
