West Bromwich Albion are wasting little time in reshaping their squad as they plot a vastly improved 2026/27 campaign.
The Baggies came worryingly close to dropping down to League One last term, with only James Morrison's late rescue act helping the Midlands side retain their second-tier status.
The former Albion star oversaw a vastly improved run of results over the final six weeks of the season to stave off the serious threat of relegation, before being rewarded for his work by being appointed as the club's permanent successor to Eric Ramsay.
Morrison has vowed to address 'issues' within his squad ahead of the new campaign and has already opted to release a handful of players at the end of their contracts, including former skipper Jez Wallace and striker Daryl Dike.
Further departures are anticipated between now and the end of August, but it's incomings that are currently being prioritised with the Championship side close to completing deals for at least two new signings.
Striker Jimmy-Jay Morgan, who shone on loan at Peterborough United last season, is set to arrive from Chelsea on a permanent deal, whilst Liverpool's Carter Pinnington is also expected to put pen-to-paper on a long-term agreement in the next 48 hours.
It's also come to light that Albion chiefs are "hopeful" of sealing a swoop for long-term target Barney Stewart from Scottish side Falkirk.
The 22-year-old is expected to be on the move this summer as clubs circle the highly-rated frontman after he netted 18 times in all competitions for the top-flight side last term.
West Brom have already seen a seven-figure bid rebuffed this summer, however, the Express and Star claims the club will return to the negotiating table in the coming weeks as they grow more confident of being able to reach an agreement for the sought after Londoner.
