West Bromwich Albion are reportedly closing in on the signing of Jimmy-Jay Morgan from Chelsea.
The England Under-20 international enjoyed an impressive loan spell with Peterborough United in League One last season.
Morgan scored 14 goals from 36 appearances in all competitions as he emerged as a potential star of the future.
After enjoying a prolific youth career at Southampton, Morgan moved to Chelsea in January 2023 for an undisclosed fee.
Following loan spells at Gillingham and Peterborough, Chelsea are now open to letting the 20-year-old leave the club.
Journalist Pete O'Rourke has reported that West Brom are in advanced talks to secure Morgan's signature.
Rather than a further loan spell, the deal in question would be a permanent one as the Baggies look to add quality to their ranks.
Morgan's first-team opportunities at Chelsea would be scarce next season and head coach James Morrison is keen for the club to move quickly to wrap up the deal.
West Brom endured a desperately disappointing campaign last season as they finished 21st in the Championship.
The arrival of Morrison in the dugout inspired a change in fortunes and they will be looking to challenge in the top-half next season.
