West Bromwich Albion are reportedly exploring a move to sign Southampton striker Ben Brereton-Diaz this summer.
The 27-year-old spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Derby County where he scored eight goals in 41 appearances.
He is a player that has moved from club to club following the success he enjoyed at Blackburn Rovers.
Brereton-Diaz spent five years at Ewood Park and he scored a combined 38 goals in his final two seasons at the club before departing for La Liga side Villarreal in the summer of 2023.
After failing to score in 20 appearances in Spain, Villarreal moved the player on after just six months and he has subsequently struggled to establish himself back in England.
The Chilean international has not scored a goal for Southampton in 15 appearances, with the club shipping him out on loan to Sheffield United before last season's temporary switch to Derby.
Chilean media outlet AS Chile have reported that West Brom are interested in the player along with other Championship clubs.
Sheffield United and Derby have also been mentioned as destinations for next season despite Brereton-Diaz not pulling up trees with either side.
West Brom have already swooped to bring in Chelsea youngster Jimmy-Jay Morgan along with Falkirk forward Barney Stewart since the end of last season.
The possible arrival of Brereton-Diaz would add more experience to their forward options and it is likely that the player will want to explore a permanent move.
