Shinnecock Hills Golf Club is the venue for the 126th US Open as the world's best players head to New York for the year's third major.
Located just three miles north of the Atlantic Ocean, Shinnecock Hills is an exposed venue, adding to the links feel of the course.
One of the hardest courses in the world, Shinnecock will play true to US Open fashion, with even-par likely a very good score across the week. Strong winds on Thursday in 2018 meant that the scoring average was 76.47, with anyone scoring six-over-par or better gaining strokes on the field.
Conditions were more benign on Friday, though only 14 players broke par, while lightning-fast greens on Saturday again led to a scoring average of over 75 on a day in which Phil Mickelson hit a moving ball after racing his putt past the hole, leading to a two-stroke penalty.
Conditions once again look to be breezy this year with steady winds forecast for all four days.
