Jiri Lehecka v Alexander Zverev Prediction, Tips and Bet Builder

Alexander Zverev bids to go further than ever before at Wimbledon when he faces Czech 13th seed Jiri Lehecka in the fourth round on Monday.

The reigning French Open champion and second seed has looked increasingly at home on grass in back-to-back straight-sets wins over Valentin Royer and Marcos Giron.

Zverev, who lost in the first round at SW19 last year, delivered one of the tournament’s most commanding serving displays in his third‑round win over Giron, firing 17 aces and winning 77% of first‑serve points.

He is now one win away from a potential quarter-final clash with Taylor Fritz - the man who beat him in the fourth round two years ago and in a recent semi-final at Halle.

Lehecka also matched his best Wimbledon result with a gritty four‑set win over Jaume Munar in which he produced 52 winners, showing a willingness to finish points at the net.

The 24-year-old reached the semis in Stuttgart last month and is 1-1 in previous meetings with Zverev, although neither have been on grass.

With Zverev’s power and Lehecka’s all‑court aggression, this matchup could be done and susted pretty quickly one way or the other.

Jiri Lehecka v Alexander Zverev Prediction

Best Bet: Zverev -4.5 Games Match Handicap @ 4/5

Zverev’s third‑round win over Giron underlined exactly why he is so dangerous on grass. His serve — already one of the biggest weapons in men’s tennis — has been especially potent on the slicker surface, allowing him to control rallies from the first strike.

The German saved both break points he faced in the second set and responded instantly when broken by the American in the third, reclaiming the lead with a composed return game.

That is the sort of response to pressure that separates Zverev from most of the field.

Lehecka’s win over Munar was impressive for the tactical plan and its execution, as he won 33 of 37 net exchanges.

But he cannot expect to throw some of Zverev’s class off his game by charging to the net on Monday.

The Czech’s conversion rate on break points and his 38 unforced errors also suggest he may struggle to maintain the precision required to trouble the second seed over a five-set match.

Zverev covered a -4.5 handicap in his last two wins and, if he continues serving at 200 km/h and keeps his double fault tally down, he should clear the handicap again.

Alternative Bet: Lehecka to win a set – No @ 13/8

Lehecka has the firepower to compete with the best, but Zverev’s form and superior grass-court weapons make it difficult to see the Czech claiming a set unless the German dips significantly.

Lehecka won their first-ever meeting in 2022, but suffered a three-set reverse in the rematch in Dubai a year later.

Both players have had their ups and downs since then, but there is a renewed purpose about Zverev now he has finally won his first Grand Slam.

Lehecka’s aggressive returning may earn him chances, but Zverev’s defensive reach and improved movement on grass should neutralise most of the Czech’s attempts to rush him and enable him to earn a comfortable passage to the last eight.

This combination is based on Zverev’s ability to dictate with his serve once he gets in front.

He has won his last two matches in straight sets and should have a good chance to end this match quickly if he goes ahead against Lehecka, who has not taken a set in his last two Wimbledon defeats.

Zverev has started matches sharply all week, winning his opening sets 6‑4, 6‑1 and 6‑2. If he continues to land over 70% of first serves, he should keep the first set short and controlled.

Lehecka’s return numbers against Munar, against whom he broke only four times in four sets, suggest he may struggle to make early inroads against Zverev’s serve.

The German has hit 21, 14 and 17 aces in his three matches — making 15+ a realistic target again.
