Cameron Norrie reached the fourth round of the French Open for the first time in his career in 2025 and opens up this time against a player who is making his debut in the main draw of a Grand Slam.
Adolfo Daniel Vallejo arrives in good form after reaching the final of the Copa Faulconbridge in Valencia on the ATP Challenger Tour earlier this month.
Norrie is by far the more experienced player and sits 47 places ahead of his opponent in the ATP rankings, with Vallejo currently at a career-high 70, but the Briton is playing on his weakest surface at the French Open and is now facing a clay-court specialist.
Best Bet - Adolfo Daniel Vallejo to win @ 4/5
Alternative Bet - Cameron Norrie 5+ double faults @ 5/6
Bet Builder - Adolfo Daniel Vallejo to win, Cameron Norrie to win a set, Cameron Norrie 5+ double faults, Adolfo Daniel Vallejo will make the first break of serve @ 6/1
Best Bet: Adolfo Daniel Vallejo to win @ 4/5
Cameron Norrie reached the fourth round at the French Open for the first time last year but may struggle to replicate that in 2026.
The Briton made a reasonable start to the clay-court season with a run to the quarter-finals in Barcelona and then the last 16 in Madrid, but he fell at the first hurdle in both Rome and Geneva and is now on a three-match losing streak without winning a set.
Norrie has played 10 matches on clay in 2026 and has five wins and five losses, while Adolfo Daniel Vallejo has been playing on this surface virtually all year - although largely at a lower level.
The Paraguayan has won three ATP Challenger tournaments on clay since November and has reached two further finals. He is in the best form of his relatively short career so far, however, and is now his country’s number one men’s singles player.
The world number 70 looks well placed to pick up a victory in his first appearance in the main draw of a Grand Slam, particularly with Norrie's preparations having been hampered by a rib injury, which may not have completely healed in time for this first-round clash.
Alternative Bet: Cameron Norrie 5+ double faults @ 5/6
Norrie’s service game has let him down in the build-up to this tournament as he has made 11 double faults across his last three matches, all of which have been 2-0 defeats for the 30-year-old.
This match will last at least three sets and will probably go beyond that given Norrie is the higher-ranked player but Vallejo is in form and on his strongest surface, giving this all the makings of a close affair that could reach four or five sets.
Five or more double faults is appealing, especially given Norrie's rib issue as well as the fact he is expected to be under pressure too.
Adolfo Daniel Vallejo is the form player and is the far more comfortable of the two on this surface, but Cameron Norrie is vastly more experienced in major tournaments and can drag this out to four or five sets.
Norrie has a respectable win rate of 56% in Paris and won two sets when he was last eliminated in the first round in 2024, so he can at least deny Vallejo a straight-sets win.
Norrie’s service game has been an issue in recent weeks and five or more double faults is a live chance, which is why it also seems more likely that Vallejo will be the man to force the first break of serve - considering his own service game has been pretty consistent.
