Sunderland, Leeds United and Fulham are all reportedly eyeing a move for Parma's £17m-rated centre back Mariano Troilo.
The Argentine, who joined the Serie A side from Belgrano last summer for around €8m, impressed in his 23 matches across all competitions last campaign - especially in the second half of the season - as Parma comfortably avoided relegation.
Standing at 6'4", Troilo is a comanding figure in both boxes, despite only scoring once across the entirety of last season.
Despite showing significant promise, the 23 year-old has yet to see the international stage, having not featured at any youth level for his native Argentina.
According to ParmaLive, Fulham are the side who have shown the most interest in the 23 year-old to date, with the Cottagers reportedly having a bid rejected already.
It is said that Parma rejected Fulham's bid, citing that they would require more to even enter into discussions over parting with one of their key players.
As a result, Fulham have now been joined in the race for his signature by fellow Premier League sides Sunderland and Leeds United, both of which have shown ambition and spending power in the transfer market since promotion.
Sunderland ultimately hold the most significant bargaining chip of all, with the Black Cats miraculously qualifying for the UEFA Europa League ahead of this season.
Their impending season competing in Europe is likely to put them in a stronger position than the majority of Premier League clubs this summer, as the race for bargains on the continent continues to ramp up.
