Veteran right-back Seamus Coleman is training with Sheffield United as he searches for a new club.
Coleman is a free agent after leaving Everton at the end of last season.
The 37-year-old arrived on Merseyside for a fee of just £60,000 from Sligo Rovers in the summer of 2029.
He proved to be one of the best bargains in Premier League history as he made 435 appearances for the club, scoring 28 goals.
It is believed that Coleman had been considering a move into coaching but the fact that he is now training with Sheffield United suggests that his playing career is not over yet.
Coleman still remains part of the Republic of Ireland setup and he played for his country in the recent summer friendlies.
Blades manager Chris Wilder has been happy to allow the player to train with the club and there is every chance that he could earn a deal.
A one-year contract would make sense for Coleman given his age and the fact that Sheffield United are keen to improve on last season's mid-table finish.
Femi Seriki and Jamie Shackleton are the club's primary right-back options but Coleman would be a useful squad player and would provide vital experience in the dressing room.
Coleman will be hoping to secure a deal, whether its at Bramall Lane or elsewhere, but a move to Sheffield would ensure that he continues to operate at a high level within the English game.
