ParisLongchamp and the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe take centre stage this weekend.
Europe's premier middle-distance Flat contest is arguably the highlight of the entire season for fans of European racing and this year's renewal looks absolutely stacked with quality.
Defending champion Daryz is back for more, Aidan O'Brien is set to saddle a trio of runners and hype continues to grow surrounding British contender Maltese Cross.
We take a look through recent stats, key trends and previous winners so that you don't have to...
Winner of the race three times in the last 12 years, Clarehaven-based John Gosden -- now training in partnership with son Thady -- will rely solely on one runner in an attempt to take his tally of Arc victors to six.
Friendly Soul (25/1) didn't appear in the list of initial entries for the race, however, connections opted to take up the free supplementary that she obtained by virtue of landing the Prix Vermeille on Arc Trials Day.
She is one of five British contenders, the most fancied of which is Maltese Cross (9/2) who fits many of the key trends. Three-year-old's have taken 18 of the last 30 runnings when compared to their four and five-year-old counterparts; weight for age a hugely significant factor in this.
Success in the Grand Prix de Paris means that he ticks the 'Group 1-winner box' and this contest is not insignificant when looking at the Arc, with Saumarez, Peintre Celebre, Bago and Rail Link all winners en-route to Arc glory.
The draw is also a significant factor to consider when attempting to pick the winner.
Excluding the two races that were staged at Chantilly in 2016 and 2017, just one horse has defied a double-figure draw, with trends showing that there is a real advantage to be handed a stall with a low number.
Last year, Daryz (stall 2), was followed home by Minnie Hauk (stall 1) and Sosie (stall 3) settled for third place.
Daryz has again pulled a decent draw in five, while his main market rival Maltese Cross is posted out in the less-than-ideal gate 11. Thundering On (three) has a brilliant draw for Joseph O'Brien, but his father, Aidan, has a rather mixed bag with Benvenuto Cellini (one), Minnie Hauk (10) and Diamond Necklace (16).
Connections of Kalpana will have been delighted when she drew six - the winning-most Arc gate since 1988.
