Who are the 24 players facing Luke Littler in Netflix's £501k challenge?

24 amateur players have been chosen to take part in Netflix's live special, Beat Luke Littler, on Friday.

The event, which will be broadcast from the Manchester Central Convention Complex, will see each contestant face Littler in a single leg of 501 for a chance to win the £501,000 jackpot.

A maximum of 20 legs will be played at the event, which means not all 24 players will take part. The competitors will be split into two groups where they will be selected at random to face Littler.

The first player to beat the two-time world champion will land the lucrative cash prize and bring the competition to an immediate conclusion.

Pointless co-presenter and novelist Richard Osman, who will be working as an expert analyst on the show, believes there's a 60% chance of Littler being beaten by one of the amateurs, who range in age from 14 to 57.

But which one, if any, will prevail? Here's the 24 contestants taking part in the unique exhibition.

Beat Luke Littler 2026

Tony Cole

Of the 24, Tony Cole is perhaps the most intriguing.

The bank business adviser from South Wales has never played outside of his own house, nor has he played against another opponent.

He is known as 'Top Cat', so if he happens to conquer Littler, at least his darting nickname won't require much thought.

Fallon Sherrock

Fallon Sherrock's inclusion brought the amateur term into disrepute, although she is technically not professional as she does not hold a PDC Tour card.

Sherrock made history as the first woman to win a match at the World Darts Championships when she beat Ted Evetts in 2019, and the women's world number three also claimed the scalp of Mensur Suljovic in the same year.

The 'Queen of the Palace' queued up like everyone else to participate in qualification and Sherrock will feel she has something to prove by encountering Littler.

Bhav Patel

Sherrock is not the only competitor who's toed the oche at the Alexandra Palace.

Bhav Patel qualified for the World Darts Championship in 2024 and averaged a respectable 82 as he was beaten by William O'Connor in the first round.

The pharmacist, who owns and runs five pharmacies across Kent, is aptly nicknamed 'Breaking Bhav'.

Mitchell Lawrie

2026 WDF World Championship finalist Mitchell Lawrie is one of the fancied players to defeat Littler.

The Renfrew teenager was crowned WDF Open Youth World Champion last year and said he's been playing darts since his grandfather mounted a board on a chair when he was two years old.

Lawrie also has experience of beating Littler at the World Cup junior darts in Gibraltar in 2023.

Jacob Gwynne

A regular on the Challenge circuit and at Q-School, civil servant Jacob Gwynne has a recent win against 2023 world champion Michael Smith in his locker heading into Friday's challenge.

The Leeds native, who cut his honeymoon short to attend the auditions, told The Times: "I played Michael Smith at an exhibition and beat him 3-0 with a 102 average — and I can mix it with the best."

He faced Littler in the PDC Youth Championships... and lost.

Jayden Walker

Hailed as the 'next Luke Littler' and widely regarded as one of the most talented players in the game, Jayden Walker is one of the youngest competitors in the field.

Walker averaged 102 when he prevailed against former world champion Luke Humphries in an exhibition match two years ago, although the Dorset ace says he's "only hit three nine-darters" in his life. Only three, he says.

Jarod Becker

There is German representation in the field as Jarod Becker from Hildesheim lines up to take on Littler.

The teacher has experience at the PDC World Youth Championship, where he won four matches, and he produced a season-high average of 98.02 this year.

He says he'll use the money to open a darts sports bar if he wins.

Mark Pooke

Mark Pooke's been absent from the PDC circuit for almost 20 years but was encouraged by his wife to audition for the challenge.

The maintenance engineer from London won two matches at the 2007 UK Open and was prolific at county level.

Pwyll ap Llyr Edwards

A fencing contractor from Llanuwchllyn, Pwyll ap Llyr Edwards has been playing darts since he was eight.

He told BBC Radio Cymru: "If I find my A game on the day and he doesn't, I might have a chance. It's going to be a big ask.

"I have had a few 12-darters and one or two 11-darters."

Edwards has six bee hives in his garden and his first language is Welsh.

Katie Sheldon

Katie Sheldon, aka The Dublin Diamond, is signed to Target Darts and plays on the Women's Series.

The 22-year-old helped Ireland retain the Women's WDF World Cup title in 2025 and she's reached the Women's World Matchplay quarter-finals twice, losing to eventual champion Beau Greaves in 2024.

Pearse Mackle

A University of Galway Commerce student from County Cavan, Pearse Mackle ranked 205th in the PDC Development Tour rankings this season.

Previously playing youth darts for Ireland, he did claim the scalp of Henry Coates, who enjoyed a breakthrough win at the PDC Players Championship 25 in Hildesheim earlier this year.

Lauren Bloomfield

A Nando’s restaurant manager, Lauren Bloomfield is ranked 19th on the Order of Merit in the PDC Women's Series.

She's gone toe-to-toe with the likes of Greaves, Sherrock and Lisa Ashton through the years, although 'Bloomy', who averages in the mid to late 60s, will need to produce the leg of her life against Littler.

Zac Spain

There's a jockey in the building.

Zac Spain, nicknamed the eccentric 'Zachariah The Electrifiah', is a jockey from Melbourne with 687 recorded race wins in his career.

Outside of horse racing he's been known to dabble in his darts. He travelled 10,000 miles for the audition before sealing his spot, which has to be commended.

Sonny Johal

A driving instructor and former amateur boxer, Sonay Johal is a regular on the Challenge Tour.

Once named Junior Boxer of the Year for Derbyshire and the Midlands, 'The Viking' has a career-high average of 82.95.

Zac Griffiths

An electrical engineer from Hereford, Zac Griffiths featured prominently on the Development Tour in 2025 and he knows how to take a leg off Littler, having lost 4-2 to the future world champion on the 2023 Development Tour.

Griffiths, who has tattoos dedicated to Catfish and the Bottlemen and WWE star Jeff Hardy, admitted winning the prize money "would be life-changing" for both himself and his daughter, Raya.

Jasper Scarrott

Not to be confused with the Birmingham comedian, Jasper Scarrott is a 54-year-old British Army captain who has served for 38 years.

Crowned the inaugural Army Darts Championship champion and a competitor on the PDC Challenger Tour, Scarrott is a hugely talented dartist.

He made history in September last year when he became the first player to hit a nine-darter on MODUS Super Series debut.

Ashley Coleman

Ashley Coleman's a bit of a darts hoarder with over 750 different sets of darts, but he's also vastly experienced having competed in over 1,000 tournaments across the previous two decades.

Ranked 34th in the Challenge Tour Order of Merit, the 29-year-old bricklayer from Suffolk boasts one of the highest seasonal averages of the 24-strong field and is a regular in the MODUS Super Series.

David Wawrzewski

50-year-old David Wawrzewski from Plumstead boasts a career-high average of 96.18, which he set in 2023.

Wawrzewski has a history of Q-School entries and came agonisingly close to obtaining a professional tour card in 2021, only to narrowly miss out despite topping the first stage Order of Merit.

The lifelong Manchester United fan founded an academy to invest in the next generation of darts players.

Makinley Cooper-Johnson

Makinley Cooper-Johnson is the second youngest entrant and the teenager from Wrexham is bullish about his chances of toppling Littler.

"Look, I'm not saying I'm world class or anything, but I can hold my own," Cooper-Johnson told BBC Wales.

"I respect Luke for what he's done. But at the end of the day, he knows he's good – but he doesn't know how good I am."

Cooper-Johnson nearly never made it to the auditions. 'Mighty Mak' and his mother decided the queue was too long, and had it not been for the intervention of a steward who pointed them in the direction of the under-18s queue, he would have ended up going home.

Will Kemp

A recruitment consultant from Harrogate, Will Kemp only started playing darts after suffering from a heart attack aged 29.

Nicknamed 'Tempo Kempo', the 30-year-old is also a talented musician.

Brett Todd

Thrill seeker Brett Todd hails from Ipswich but has been around the world, visiting 39 countries.

The 25-year-old is a British Army helicopter technician and an avid film fan who loves a trip to the cinema.

Théodore Wallich

From Brittany in France, Théodore Wallich is instantly recognisable with his distinct moustache.

The student, nicknamed 'The Moustache Kid', started playing darts three years ago and hasn't looked back since.

Kasey Smith

Kasey Smith doesn't have far too travel to reach the Manchester Central Convention Complex as she is a proud Mancunian.

The aspiring criminologist has only been playing darts for just over a year and has represented her county after being encouraged to attend the MG Darts Academy by a pub colleague.

Smith used to be a competitive Morris dancer before she picked up the tungsten.

Taylon Forrester

Last but by no means least, bin man Taylon Forrester is planning to dump Littler out of the competition so that he can take his family to Jamaica.

The 18-year-old from Bedford has embraced his occupation by nicknaming himself 'The Trash Man'.
