Pep Guardiola will step down as Manchester City manager after 10 years in charge at the end of the season.
A Man City statement read:
"Pep Guardiola will step down as Manager of Manchester City this summer.
"Despite his departure as Manager of Manchester City, Pep will continue his relationship with the City Football Group, by taking up a role as a Global Ambassador. The role will see him giving technical advice to the clubs in the group, working on specific projects and collaborations."
Guardiola's place as one of the all-time greats of the game has long been cemented, and he leaves as a Premier League legend, winning the title six times, as well as lifting a trio of FA Cups and the EFL Cup five times.
Guardiola also won a third UEFA Champions League title as part of Manchester City's Treble-winning campaign of 2023.
Guardiola arrived at the Etihad in 2016, and while the influx of money from the Middle East had turned City into one of England's most powerful clubs, it wasn't until the arrival of Guardiola that they developed into an era-defining side.
The Citizens had finished first, second, first, second and fourth prior to Guardiola's arrival, when progress was initially slow, finishing third as the Catalan attempted to instil his methods on the Premier League.
The next season, City created history, becoming the first Premier League side to reach 100 points and would go on to win six of the next seven titles, winning four on the bounce to create yet more English footballing history.
Despite losing out to Arsenal in the Premier League title race, Guardiola's final season with the Citizens has still been a success, guiding his team to an EFL Cup and FA Cup double to ensure that he does not leave Manchester empty handed.
Guardiola's last game in charge of City will come against Aston Villa, in front of his adoring Etihad crowd.
Attentions will quickly turn to who might be in line to replace Guardiola, with Enzo Maresca expected to be named the new manager.
