YouGov polling had Reform in the lead, nudging 30%, for the second half of 2025, but the party saw their share fall in early 2026 as the Greens briefly surged under the leadership of Zack Polanski, overtaking Labour and the Conservatives for a period.
But the formation of Rupert Lowe's Restore Britain combined with the exit of Keir Starmer as prime minister has seen Reform's polling figures dip below Labour and the Tories to 21% as of mid-October.
There was also the furore around Nigel Farage's finances, prompting the leader to stand in a by-election, defending his seat and essentially standing uncontested.
And most recently, there was more scrutiny around the party's finances, with undercover reporting revealing senior Reform members arranging for an American company to fund three polls on behalf of the party, in breach of campaign finance laws.
In mid-September, YouGov recorded its lowest approval rating of Farage of -69%.
While there's no suggestion Farage will leave imminently, the party may be looking at a succession plan.
Robert Jenrick, widely tipped to be the next Conservative leader prior to his defection, is the 9/4 favourite to succeed Farage, with former party chairman Zia Yusuf second favourite at 7/2 and deputy leader Richard Tice third favourite at 9/2.
