Whoever that person ends up being, they face quite the task ranging from tackling high debt, low growth and the economic impact of several global fallouts.

Currently serving as the Energy Secretary, the former leader of the Labour party is well-aligned with Burnham's beliefs, many seeing this as a positive if he is to secure what is often referred to as the number two job in British politics.
It was expected that Wes Streeting would challenge Burnham for the Larbour premiership, however, there is a possibility that he could become chancellor under his watch. The former Health Secretary resigned following the fallout from Labour's underperformance in the local elections and at one point was favourite to become the next prime minister.
Streeting has since thrown his weight behind the Burnham campaign and could take up another prominent position in government.
Shabana Mahmood has emerged as a frontrunner from left of field in recent weeks but at 2/1, only has Miliband ahead of her in the market.
The current Home Secretary has limited economic experience, although reports in the The Times detailed that Burnham's aides would like to see Mahmood appointed as chancellor.
