Find out which players scored the most World Cup goals between 1990 and 2022.

The 2026 World Cup has witnessed Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe scale unprecedented heights in the all-time World Cup goalscoring charts as the duo became the first players to breach the 20-goal barrier.

Messi and Mbappe were trading blows for the World Cup Golden Boot in a tournament that witnessed both climb above Germany's Miroslav Klose in the all-time standings.

Klose scored 16 goals from the 2002 to World Cup in Japan and South Korea to the 2014 World Cup, where Germany beat Argentina in the final.

The prolific German striker had broken the record of Ronaldo Nazario, who scored 15 goals for Brazil between 1998 and 2006.

Germany have produced several clinical forwards over the years and two more feature on this list with Jurgen Klinsmann netting 11 goals from 1990 to 1998, while Thomas Muller was a talismanic figure with 10 goals from 2010 to 2022.

Accompanying Muller on 10 is Argentina's Gabriel Batistuta, which is one more than Spain's leading World Cup goalscorer David Villa.
