Millwall have made an early eye-catching move in the summer transfer window by securing the signature of one of League One's hottest prospects Jenson Metcalfe.
The Londoners have splashed out in excess of £1 million to land the talented midfielder, holding off strong interest from numerous other Championship clubs.
The 21-year-old played a starring role for the Bantams last season as they reached the third-tier play-offs, making 49 appearances in all competitions in what proved to be a real breakout campaign for the former Everton academy starlet.
His form at Valley Parade had caught the attention of a whole host of sides, with Bradford reported to have spurned the advances of a couple of those in January as they opted not to cash in on the youngster.
However, after missing out on promotion to the Championship, it was always likely the Wigan-born performer would be in high-demand during the transfer window, with Millwall wasting no time in completing a move.
Speaking to the club's official website shortly after the news was announced, Millwall's Director of Football Steve Gallen said: "I'm pleased to be bringing Jenson to this football club.
"We've been tracking him for a few years now, from his days at Everton Under 21s, to his loan at Chesterfield, and then onto Bradford, having watched him a number of times.
"Jenson was a mainstay in the Bradford team last year and possesses a number of traits that we can feel add real value to the squad.
"Our first signing of the summer is a progression of what we're trying to do, trying to get the best young talent into the football club.
"We also want to develop the best young talent through our Academy as well, push them forward, but also looking to buy in the best young talent to keep the progression going.
"I'd like to welcome Jenson, and we're really pleased to have him with us."
The Lions will be keen to further enhance Alex Neil's squad over the next couple of months as they attempt to build-upon an impressive third place finish in 2025/26.
Millwall had defied expectations in cementing themselves as genuine automatic promotion contenders, only to miss out on the final day of the season, before the play-off hopes were crushed by Hull City at the semi-final stage.
