After helping Bolton Wanderers to promotion from League One, Mason Burstow looks to be a player in demand during the summer transfer window.
The forward returns back to his parent club, Hull City, after his successful loan spell at Wanderers, but following the Tigers’ promotion to the Premier League, a permanent move looks to be on the cards.
Reports claim Hull are looking to complete player sales this month to help them stay within financial rules, with Burstow seemingly one of those set to leave the MKM Stadium.
It’s claimed Hull will be looking for between £1million and £2million for the player, who has had three loan spells in the last four years.
When asked about his future before the League One play-off final, Burstow stated: "Next Year is a really big one for me, so I want to make the right decision."
A host of clubs will be interested in signing the 22-year-old and in this article, we assess where the former England Under-20 international will end up next.
After a successful campaign with the Trotters, Bolton looks the most likely destination for Burstow, who scored 12 goals in 45 appearances last season.
The forward will be keen to be playing Championship football and Wanderers' promotion makes a permanent switch a definite possibility.
The former Chelsea man, who is contracted to Hull until June 2028, was pleased to get the opportunity to show what he can do playing as a number nine.
His experience in the second tier, with the likes of Sunderland and Hull, would make him an attractive proposition to add to Bolton’s squad.
Wanderers’ boss Steven Schumacher praised the player on a number of occasions last season, especially for being a "positive character".
Bolton are 20/1 to be promoted in the 2026-27 campaign and 80/1 to win the Championship.
Burstow came through the ranks at Charlton and made his senior debut in an EFL Trophy tie back in August 2021.
The forward scored two goals in seven senior appearances for the Addicks, before agreeing to join Chelsea in February 2022.
Despite avoiding relegation, Charlton struggled for goals last term, with only bottom club Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn scoring fewer than them.
Charlton could struggle again next season and are seen as outsiders in the promotion battle as they are available at 25/1 to be promoted
It’s no secret that Nathan Jones wants to bring in attacking reinforcements during the summer and Greenwich-born Burstow could be keen on a return to the capital.
Having won the League One title last season, Lincoln will be determined to make it more than a one-season stay in the Championship.
Even though they have handed a new four-year contract to striker Rob Street, the Imps are understood to have attacking reinforcements high on their list.
Having lost their manager Michael Skubala to Bristol City, the Lincolnshire outfit have a busy summer ahead to prepare for their first ever season in the second tier.
One thing they haven’t got in their current squad is much Championship experience and that is something Burstow could add to the camp.
Lincoln are 33/1 to be promoted up to the Premier League next season in what would be a dream campaign in the Championship.
