Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes is the subject of some serious interest from Turkish giants Galatasaray.
The Super Lig club are readying a bid for the Portuguese star and are prepared to offer him double his current salary in an attempt to unsettle Fernandes, according to James Ducker of the Telegraph.
It will be of no surprise to everyone that the Red Devils are expected to reject any approach made for their skipper, who broke the record for most assists in a single Premier League campaign last season.
Fernandes earns around £200k per week and has just entered the final year of his contract at Old Trafford, though the club hold an option to extend for a further year.
It is also worth noting that the 94-cap Portugal international did have a release clause in his deal that would've allowed him to leave for £55.6m (€60m) this summer, though it expired in July, meaning Manchester United have full control over whether they allow him to leave or not.
Galatasaray are seemingly unbothered by this.
Dursun Ozbek, the president of the Istanbul club, is personally managing the deal and is readying an offer of €50m (£48.2m) plus add-ons as he looks to make a statement signing ahead of their title defense this season.
Said add-ons are supposedly; €1m if the Turks qualify for the UEFA Champions League, €1m if they reach the last-16 and a further €3.5m if they qualify for the quarter-finals.
Should the two clubs agree a fee, the offer on the table for United's number eight is rumoured to be a four-year deal worth €21m (£18.3m) per year, with a €4m signing on bonus.
But there is even more, Ozbek is willing to offer €1.5m per Super Lig title win (up to €6m), and €2m if Fernandes is the top assister in his first season or €1.5m if he achieves the feat in season two.
The 31-year-old has always held Manchester United to account, pushing the club to match his ambitions and making noises about leaving if the club isn't challenging for titles and playing in Europe's elite club competition.
On the other hand though, he has previous for turning down deals with huge financial packages, primarily in the form of prior interest from Saudi Arabia, suggesting that he still wishes to compete at the highest level, something with the Turkish Super Lig isn't associated with.
Expect plenty of noise around this deal as Galatasaray look to unsettle their target and test United's resolve, but it looks to be a non-starter, with Michael Carrick's side likely to reject any offer immediately.
