Luton Town are looking to secure a trio of new signings as they prepare for the start of pre-season.
The Hatters enjoyed a strong second half of the season under the stewardship of Jack Wilshere and they won the EFL Trophy with a 3-1 victory over Stockport County in the final.
They ended the League One season in excellent form but they just missed out on a play-off place as they finished a point behind sixth-placed Stevenage.
Luton have been installed as one of the favourites to win promotion next season as they look to seal a return to the Championship.
Wilshere is looking to strengthen his squad and they look set to make a breakthrough in the transfer market ahead of pre-season.
The deal to sign former Bolton Wanderers captain George Johnston is seemingly reaching a conclusion.
The 27-year-old is set to join on a free transfer, with Football Insider reporting that a medical has been scheduled for the defender.
Attacking midfielder Kasey Palmer could also be on his way to Kenilworth Road after it was revealed that Hull City are looking to balance their books this month.
Palmer enjoyed an excellent loan spell at Luton last season as he scored eight goals in 20 appearances.
His game time at Hull now looks even less likely following the Tigers' remarkable promotion to the Premier League.
Luton also remain keenly interested in Barnsley captain Luca Connell after an initial move for the midfielder fell through in January.
Like Johnston and Palmer, Connell would add undoubted quality to the Hatters ranks and its is believed that they are now looking to revisit the negotiating table.
