Leeds United have made a third bid to secure the signing of Southampton midfielder Shea Charles this summer.
Charles made 38 appearances in all competitions for Southampton last season and he weighed in with six goals.
The Northern Ireland international has caught the eye of a number of Premier League clubs and it is Leeds that have showed the most interest.
Leeds have already had two bids turned down for the player as Southampton look to hold on to one of their key assets.
Simon Jones of the Daily Mail has now reported that a third bid has been tabled for the player as Leeds look to conclude a deal.
The offer is believed to involve an initial fee of £23 million plus incentives, while former club Manchester City have a 15% sell-on clause.
Leeds could face competition from Crystal Palace but the club is hopeful that Southampton will now succumb to the improved offer.
Whilst Southampton are looking to mount another promotion challenge, the substantial fee involved could be reinvested heavily in a number of additions for next season.
Daniel Farke will be hoping that a deal that will be completed, particularly after he openly voiced his ambitions at the end of last season.
Leeds were in a relegation fight for the majority of the last campaign and they will be targeting a mid-table finish next season.
