Leeds United winger Wilfried Gnonto could be set join Serie A side Fiorentina on loan before the transfer window shuts.
BBC Sport journalist Nizaar Kinsella has reported that there is an agreement between the two clubs for Gnonto to move on an initial loan deal.
However, the move will only be completed if Leeds are able to secure a winger themselves before Tuesday's deadline.
It is understood that Chelsea's Mykhailo Mudryk remains Leeds' preferred option, but a move is yet to materialise for the Ukrainian winger.
Mudryk is free to play football again and is looking to kickstart his career by playing regular first-team football this season.
He missed the entirety of last season but Leeds feel that he could provide a spark for them over the course of the campaign.
His possible arrival could mean the end of Gnonto's Leeds career, even if the prospective deal to join Fiorentina is a temporary one.
The 22-year-old joined Leeds in September 2022 and he has made 147 appearances for the club, scoring 23 goals.
However, he failed to score a league goal last season and he has found himself down the pecking order this time around.
