John Fury has claimed that two-weight undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk is not worthy of inclusion in the boxing Hall of Fame.
Usyk became the first fighter to defeat Tyson Fury when they first met for the in May 2024, becoming the first fighter since Lennox Lewis to be crowned undisputed heavyweight champion in the process.
The Ukrainian repeated the feat when they rematched in December of that year, getting the nod on all three judges' scorecards at the Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia.
Fury announced his retirement following that fight but is currently preparing to return to the ring, with the Gypsy King scheduled to take on Arslanbek Makhmudov next month.
Meanwhile Usyk has continued his reign of dominance, stopping Daniel Dubois in five rounds when they rematched last summer.
However, despite his unbeaten record and extensive accolades John Fury insisted that Uysk does not rank among the pantheon of greats throughout the history of boxing's glamour division.
"Usyk's good but he's not a Hall of Famer," Fury told Playbook Boxing.
"He's not. It's just that Tyson wasn't himself in those two fights because he was past his best.
The 60-year-old added that his son had taken excessive damage in his classic trilogy with Deontay Wilder, with the effects of the three clashes hastening the end of both fighters' primes.
Fury claimed that for that reason Wilder will be comfortably beaten by Derek Chisora when they meet at the O2 Arena next month.
He explained: "Wilder can't walk. I'll have a little bet now, old Chisora will walk straight through Wilder.
"With his hands high, it'll be over. Honestly, Chisora all the way."
