Jadon Sancho has reportedly turned down a lucrative offer from La Liga side Getafe to return to football.
Sancho has been without a club since the end of last season when his ill-fated spell at Manchester United came to an end when his contract expired.
The 26-year-old old had spent last season on loan with Aston Villa but the club ultimately opted not to offer him a contract and he has remained a free agent, now several months into the new campaign.
Over the course of the summer Sancho was pictured training at 10th-tier Flixton FC, though he was solely using the non-league side's facilities to maintain his fitness.
As speculation surrounding where the former England international will continue his career has heightened in recent weeks, Championship side West Ham have been touted as a potential destination.
Reports suggested that Sancho's representatives had been in talks with the London club over a potential move but it now appears he will instead move abroad.
According to a report from Spanish outlet Marca, La Liga side Getafe had been in talks with Sancho over a potential move to the Estadio Coliseum.
The club are said to have offered Sancho a deal in the region of €3million-a-year (approximately £49,000-a-week) that would see him join Jose Bordalas' side until the end of the season.
Ultimately though that offer has reportedly been rebuffed, though instead of looking to continue his career in Europe, Sancho is instead said to closing in on a lucrative move to the Saudi Pro League.
Sancho had previously been linked with a move to the Gulf State this summer, with reports at the time claiming that he had held off a move to an unnamed club as he preferred to continue his career in Europe should a suitable offer arise.
