West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing FC Koln defender Rav van den Berg.
German media outlet Express have reported the news of West Ham's interest in the 22-year-old Dutch centre-back.
Van den Berg arrived at FC Koln in the summer of 2025 for a fee of £11.2 million from Championship side Middlesbrough.
He made just 14 appearances in the Bundesliga last season and he remains very much on the fringes of the first team in the new campaign.
It was during two seasons at Middlesbrough where van den Berg established himself as a defender with considerable potential.
The 6ft 3ins defender featured 66 times for the club before departing at the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
His lack of regular football in Germany has alerted the Hammers ahead of the re-opening of the transfer window on New Year's Day.
Van den Berg remains a player with a seemingly high ceiling and he could flourish under the stewardship of the pragmatic Nuno Espirito Santo.
West Ham are currently second in the Championship table after recovering from a shaky start and supporters will be hopeful that they can continue where they left off after the international break.
