Acun Ilicali has suggested Hull City are working on signing 11 new players after the Tigers owner decided to clarify the club's transfer state of play on social media.
Hull completed their third signing of the summer transfer window with the addition of defender Matt Targett on a two-year deal following his departure from Newcastle United.
Targett accompanies goalkeeper Jack Butland and midfielder Oscar Zambrano - who spent the 2024/25 season on loan with the Tigers - through the entrance of the MKM Stadium.
However, Sergej Jakirovic’s squad still requires substantial fine-tuning as Ilicali looks to provide his promotion-winning manager with a squad capable of avoiding relegation from the Premier League.
Hull have been linked with a plethora of names since their triumph over Middlesbrough in the Championship play-off final, but Ilicali has decided to react to reports that the Tigers have been rejected by players.
Ilicali wrote on X: "Dear Hull City family, we are reading dozens of false transfer rumors in many places.
"We are disturbed by the claims that we have been rejected and by the use of our club's name to gain attention. We have been working intensively for two months. I believe we will build a team that we will all be proud of.
"To prevent false speculation and to give you more information, I am leaving you with our latest transfer situation, which includes some clues."
Hull are reportedly nearing the completion of deals for Orlando City winger Marco Pasalic - which judging by Ilicali's post, is 80% done according to the Tigers supremo - and former Sporting CP midfielder Hidemasa Morita, who departed Lisbon following the expiration of his contract in June.
Hull still expect to complete the signing of highly-rated Olympiacos goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis, while the club have reportedly agreed terms with Mjällby AIF for the services of Swedish wing-back Elliot Stroud.
Discussions are set to continue with Aston Villa over a deal for Leon Bailey as the Jamaica international is deemed surplus to requirements by Unai Emery.
Hull have been linked with Watford's prodigious forward Nestory Irankunda, which would explain the Australia flag, although the Socceroos star is also wanted by Sporting CP. Auxerre's attacking midfielder Kevin Danois (France flag) has also been touted for a switch to Humberside.
Free agent Senegalese striker Bamba Dieng is wanted by a plethora of clubs and Hull are rumoured to be a potential destination for the 26-year-old.
Despite reports linking Hull to Norwich City full-back Kellen Fisher and Brighton winger Amario Cozier-Duberry, no English flags feature on Ilicali's post of potential incomings.
