As Hull City prepare for Premier League football for the first time since 2016/17, plenty of players are being linked with moves to Humberside.
The most recent link comes from the Daily Mail, who claim that the Tigers have tabled a £12.5m bid for a goalkeeper who started both legs of a Europa League semi-final last season, and is currently away at the World Cup with his nation.
That 'keeper is Braga and Czechia's Lukas Hornicek, who was an unused substitute in his country's 2-1 loss to South Korea in the opening round of group games.
The Mail also claim that Hull have opened talks with Manchester United regarding the future of former loanee Toby Collyer.
City supposedly want to bring in two goalkeepers ahead of their Premier League return, so a move for Hornicek, who kept 24 clean sheets for Braga in all competitions - including 12 in Liga Portugal and 11 across their Europa League campaign - seems a sensible start to business.
The 23-year-old is allegedly interested in the move, though Braga are likely to ask for more for a 'keeper also watched by Inter Milan, Porto and Leeds United in recent months.
The 6ft6 shot stopper has featured 52 times for the Portuguese side since breaking into the first team in 2021. He moved to their academy from Pardubice in 2019, becoming the Czech team's biggest ever sale.
Representing the Czech national team at every youth level from U16 onwards, Hornicek made his senior debut in a 2-1 friendly win over Kosovo in May 2026, impressing enough to be one of the trio of goalkeepers in the World Cup squad, alongside Matej Kovar and Jindrich Stanek.
It is certainly one to watch as Hull look to seal the first of two transfers for between the sticks, having already been rebuffed by Bayern Munich's Alexander Nubel who is holding out for a bigger club.
In the same report, it is touted that Hull City have made contact with Manchester United regarding the future of Toby Collyer, who spent the back end of last season on loan at the MKM Stadium.
The club's hierarchy have seemingly seen enough in five Championship appearances for the Tigers and believe that a full pre-season could see him kick on into a Premier League ready midfielder.
Collyer did also make 12 appearances for West Bromwich Albion in the first half of the season before being recalled by Manchester United on January 1st 2026.
The England youth international has featured across a plethora of competitions for Manchester United, including the Premier League, FA Cup and Community Shield, even earning plaudits from current captain Bruno Fernandes after starting and playing 73 minutes in a 2-1 Europa League victory over Rangers.
It remains to be seen what the Red Devils' position is regarding the 22-year old.
He has big, big qualities - he's aggressive off the ball and running with the ball, he's class in tight spaces ... he's just going to get better
Bruno Fernandes speaking about Collyer after Manchester United's 2-1 Europa League win at home to Rangers in January 2025.
