Huddersfield Town, Sheffield Wednesday and Leicester City are reportedly interested in a loan move for Sunderland goalkeeper Matty Young.
The Sunderland academy graduate has impressed out on loan in the last couple of years and he has represented England at Under 19s and Under 20s level.
After featuring for Darlington in the National League North in the 2023/24 campaign, Young has spent the last two seasons with Salford City in League Two.
Young made 50 appearances in all competitions, including 44 times in League Two, as he excelled in the fourth-tier last season.
He was part of the Salford side that reached the League Two play-offs, before they suffered a 3-0 defeat to Notts County in the final at Wembley.
The 19-year-old is viewed as a solid long-term prospect at Sunderland and they are now looking to aid his development by providing him with a step up to League One.
Sheffield Wednesday, who view Young as a potential replacement for Pierce Charles, are interested along with League One promotion favourites Leicester City.
Journalist Alan Nixon has now reported that Huddersfield are keen on pursuing a move which would likely be a full season loan.
All three of the interested clubs will be eyeing a promotion push next season and it is a sign of Young's potential that he has been linked with the trio.
Another successful loan could propel Young to greater heights and open up even more doors at the end of next season.
