How far has each semi-finalist travelled at the World Cup?

The World Cup has reached the semi-finals, with France, Spain, England and Argentina vying for a spot in the final.

It's been a unique tournament, in that it's taken place in not one, not two, but three different countries and four different time zones, making logistics another factor for teams to consider.

It's also handed certain teams a sizeable advantage. France, for example, based themselves in Boston knowing their three group games were all in the north east, meaning they only had to travel to New Jersey and Philadelphia before their final group game in Boston.

Having won their group, they assured themselves of a passage to the World Cup semi-finals that took them to back to New Jersey, Philadelphia and Boston, before travelling to Dallas, Texas where they'll take on Spain.

England, by contrast, have done a near-complete tour of North America. The Three Lions opted to base themselves in Kansas City, and while they didn't have any games scheduled there, it acted as a central base for their campaign.

England have made trips to Dallas, Boston and New Jersey in the group stages before their first knockout tie in Atlanta. They then had to face the altitude of Mexico City before the sweltering heat of Miami.

Similarly, Spain based themselves in Chattanooga, Tennessee, giving themselves short trips to Atlanta for their first two games, but a 1,500-mile journey to Mexico for their final game. La Roja then had to travel to Los Angeles, Dallas and back to Los Angeles, before returning to Dallas for their semi-final.

Argentina are much less well travelled. Also based in Kansas City, their final two group games were the fairly modest trips to Dallas before travelling to Miami and Atlanta. They remained in Kansas City for their quarter-final and now face the same journey as England to Atlanta.
