Chepstow stages a competitive six-race Flat card on Wednesday evening, all of the action sponsored by Bet365.
Racing Post tipster, Marcus Buckland, has provided three recommendations for the meeting.
19:01 Chepstow (7f - Bet365 Handicap) - Escape Magic @ 8/11
19:36 Chepstow (1m - Each Way Extra At Bet365 Handicap ) - Ajrad @ 8/1
20:11 Chepstow (7f - Never Ordinary At Bet365 Handicap) - Just Typical @ 11/8
19:01 Chepstow (7f - Bet365 Handicap) - Escape Magic @ 8/11
Owen Burrows’ Escape Magic left previous efforts well behind when making a successful handicap debut at Leicester last month and should have more to come in the third race at Chepstow.
The daughter of Without Parole did not look especially well treated off an opening mark of 49 at the Midlands track, having failed to run above at Racing Post Rating of 43 in three novice outings.
However, she ran on strongly to collect by a length under Callum Rodriguez and that form has been well advertised with both the second and third since winning.
She has gone up just 5lb for that and should take plenty of beating in a race where few can be seriously fancied.
19:36 Chepstow (1m - Each Way Extra At Bet365 Handicap ) - Ajrad @ 8/1
June proved a frustrating month for trainer Rod Millman, the handler sending out only two winners from 49 runners.
He has already matched that total in the opening week of this month, which bodes well to the chances of Ajrad, who ran a rare below par race at this track 23 days ago.
The eight-year-old has won three times from only nine visits to this venue, finishing second on another two occasions and third once.
Indeed, he has got form figures of 11125 in his runs over course and distance and is handily treated off a mark of 54, which is 6lb below his win at this track last September.
20:11 Chepstow (7f - Never Ordinary At Bet365 Handicap) - Just Typical @ 11/8
Ian Williams looks to have found a good opportunity for Just Typical to gain a first win of the year, the selection having shaped promisingly, albeit with an ungainly head carriage, when fourth on Newmarket’s July Course at the end of last month.
The five-year-old enjoyed a fine time of it in 2025, winning no fewer than five times between January and September.
He has slipped to a mark 1lb below the last of those victories and returns to Class 6 company for the first time in 12 months.
