Harry Kane has won the 2026 Ballon d'Or and joined an exclusive list of Englishman to win football's most prestigious individual trophy.
The England captain and Bayern Munich talisman scored 73 goals across club and international competitions in the 2025/26 season, and his prolific record swung voters in his favour over Real Madrid's Kylian Mbappe and Barcelona's Lamine Yamal.
Kane won the Bundesliga for a second year running and collected Germany's Torjägerkanone for a third successive campaign, while his six goals at the 2026 World Cup ensured he became England's all-time leading goalscorer at major tournaments.
"I am almost speechless," Kane said upon collecting the award. "Being here in London has made it extra special.
"Made it a good omen for me tonight. Thank you to everyone who voted for me. I can imagine it was tough this year.
"Some world-class players in the room tonight. Congratulations to all the winners and nominees tonight and impressive showing determination and hard work can really achieve."
Kane, who was also named men's striker of the year at the event as he collected the Gerd Muller Trophy, went on to thank his current manager Vincent Kompany, who is recovering after collapsing at the team's training ground on Friday.
The 33-year-old also reserved a special mention to his former club Tottenham Hotspur.
“I want to say thank you to Tottenham Hotspur," said Kane. "I wouldn't be where I am today without Tottenham. All the guidance, all the coaches you have allowed me to live my dream. For all those moments, all the ups and downs along the way has led me to this moment here today.
"To all the fans, Bayern, England fans, Spurs fans and all my fans around the world. I love you in this room tonight.
"The support you give me - I appreciate it all. I remember being a fan not long ago and what it means to play football. It was a dream of mine.
"Any time I can give back to you guys is an honour and privilege to do so."
