Tiger Roll became the first horse since the great Red Rum to win the Grand National in successive years in 2019.

There are a total of seven horses who are multiple winners of the Grand National, but only Red Rum has won the race three times.

Many Clouds

An unbelievable time of eight minutes and 47 seconds set by Mr Frisk in 1990 remains the fastest ever time to win the Grand National.

Many Clouds, one of the most popular Aintree winners, is the only other horse to break the nine-minute barrier.

Biggest priced winners in the Grand National

Noble Yeats

Five horses have won the Grand National at odds of 100/1 over the years.

Other recent big-priced winners include Auroras Encore who won at 66/1 back in 2013 and Noble Yeats, a 50/1 winner in 2022.

Shortest priced winners in the Grand National

Tiger Roll

When Tiger Roll defended his Grand National crown in 2019, he became the shortest priced winner in a century.

However, there have been five horses who have won the race at shorter odds, the last of which was Poethlyn who won at odds of 11/4 in the 1919 Grand National.

Grey horses to win the Grand National

Neptune Collonges

In the illustrious history of the Grand National, there have only been three grey horses who have won the race.

The 2012 renewal produced the most exciting finish in the history of the Grand National, with Neptune Collonges just pipping Sunnyhillboy to victory.

Biggest weight to win the Grand National

Many Clouds

Before changes to the Grand National weights meant that the maximum weight allowed was capped at 11st 12lbs, a dozen different horses won the Grand National carrying at least 12st.

Many Clouds carried 11st 9lb to win the 2015 Grand National, which is the most weight carried by a winner in the 21st century.
