Women's Open Prediction and Tips

This week's Women's Open is the fifth and final Major of the season and an enthralling event is anticipated at Royal Lytham & St Annes, which hosts for the first time since 2018.

Nelly Korda won the first two Majors of the year - the Chevron Championship and US Women's Open - and she has been installed as the 17/2 favourite.

Haeran Ryu landed the next two Majors - the Women's PGA Championship and the Evian Championship - and it is perhaps no surprise to see her second in the betting at 11/1.

Women's Open Tips Summary

Best Bet - Lauren Coughlin to win and each-way @ 70/1
Alternative Bet: Hannah Green to win and each-way @ 55/1
Alternative Bet - Pajaree Anannarukarn to win and each-way @ 100/1

Women's Open Prediction

Best Bet: Lauren Coughlin to win and each-way @ 70/1

Royal Lytham & St Annes presents a true test of links golf and one player who looks capable of handling the challenge ahead is Lauren Coughlin, who enjoyed her best Women's Open effort last year when tied 13th.

The 33-year-old American ended a run of three missed cuts in a row when finishing tied fifth at last week's Women's Scottish Open, and that performance at Dundonald Links should have provided a big confidence boost ahead of this Major.

Coughlin is 18th in strokes gained tee to green on the LPGA Tour and that bodes well ahead of this difficult test in Lancashire, with a plethora of bunkers and rough ready to gobble up any errant shots.

Ranking ninth in driving accuracy and 12th in greens in regulation, Coughlin looks to hold strong claims this week, as long as the putter behaves.

Alternative Bet: Hannah Green to win and each-way @ 55/1

It is seven years since Hannah Green claimed her sole Major at the Women's PGA Championship but she has been in solid form this year to suggest she can capture another one of the biggest prizes.

The Women's Open has not been the Australian's favourite tournament, with her best result a tied 16th in 2019, but her approach play and putting this season provide hope of a strong challenge this week.

Green is 10th in greens in regulation and eight in strokes gained approach, evidence of how sharp the irons have been, while she is fourth in strokes gained putting and 20th in putts per GIR.

The 29-year-old has won twice on the LPGA Tour this year, landing the HSBC Women's World Championship and the JM Eagle LA Championship, and a third success could be coming her way.

Alternative Bet: Pajaree Anannarukarn to win and each-way @ 100/1

Pajaree Anannarukarn is chasing her maiden Major this week and there have been enough positives this year to suggest that title could come at Royal Lytham.

The 27-year-old from Thailand warmed up for this event with a tied-third finish at the Scottish Open and that effort adds to her links form, with her last two Women's Open results a T10 in 2024 and a T13 in 2025.

Anannarukarn's irons have been red-hot this season, evidenced by her ranking of seventh in greens in regulation and 14th in strokes gained approach, and that part of her game stands her in good stead.
