The PGA Tour heads to Detroit Golf Club this week for the eighth and final edition of the Rocket Classic.
With the sponsors of this tournament deciding not to renew, the Rocket Classic will fall off the PGA Tour from next year and that is a shame given Detroit Golf Club underwent a $16.1million renovation following the 2025 edition.
Two of the par-fives now play as par-fours measuring in excess of 500 yards, with the par of the course changing from a 72 to a 70, while there is tall wispy fescue to catch out errant shots, the bunkers are deeper and the greens are bigger to make for more challenging pin positions.
Big-hitting South African Aldrich Potgieter claimed the spoils last year, defeating Chris Kirk and Max Greyserman in a play-off, but there is set to be more emphasis on accuracy than sheer power this time around.

Wyndham Clark is back in action after a short break following his missed cut at the 154th Open Championship and his form before that Royal Birkdale disappointment suggests he can win this week.
The American won the CJ Cup Byron Nelson in May, finished third at the Memorial and then went tied 11th at the RBC Canadian Open to put him in high spirits heading into the US Open.
Clark landed the Major for the second time, holding off Sam Burns by one shot, before posting a top five at the Travelers Championship and a tied 13th effort at the Scottish Open.
The 32-year-old should be recharged for this trip to Detroit and given how key putting has been to success at this venue, it bodes well that he is first in total putting and 21st in strokes gained.
With the course also expected to play tougher, Clark's ranking of 15th in strokes gained tee to green will stand him in good stead, as will his position of 17th in approach.

After finishing tied 31st on his Rocket Classic debut in 2024, Jake Knapp returned 12 months later to grab a share of fourth position with a round of 61 on day two the biggest highlight.
The 32-year-old enjoyed a welcome return to form last week, finishing tied 13th at the 3M Open, and he can take the confidence from his best performance since the Masters into this event.
Knapp was ninth in strokes gained off the tee last week and if he can maintain that strong form with the driver, his reliability on the greens should see him make a bold challenge for glory.
The American is 10th in putting average and sixth in strokes gained putting on the PGA Tour this season.

Another strong putter is Jacob Bridgeman, who is first in total putting, third in strokes gained and fourth in putting average. He is one of the best with the flat stick and that club will be key this week.
The world number 31 has had a couple of cracks at the Rocket Classic, posting finishes of 31st (2024) and 26th (2025), and he arrives this year having broken his PGA Tour duck at the Genesis Invitational in February.
Bridgeman is 17th in strokes gained total, highlighting his consistency when combining every category, and he has the ability to contend for a second title at this level.
