Fulham win race to sign La Liga centre-back

Fulham are set to complete the signing of Elche defender David Affengruber for €12 million.

Journalist Florian Plettenberg confirmed the news on his official X account.

"David Affengruber to Fulham - DONE DEAL.

"Full agreement reached between 25 y/o centre-back and Fulham. He is now undergoing his medical.

"As revealed, Affengruber had been planning a move this summer. Elche are set to receive €12m + add-ons."

Affengruber made his debut for Austria earlier this year and the signing represents a coup for Fulham.

Alvaro Arbeloa's side have won the race ahead of Championship side Southampton and he could go straight into the squad for Saturday's match at home to Crystal Palace.
