Fulham are close to agreeing a deadline-day deal for Bayern Munich defender Sacha Boey.
The Cottagers have been looking for a right-back in the summer window and were thought to be focusing their attention on Rayo Vallecano's Andrei Ratiu.
However, they are now pursuing a £10million deal for Bayern's Boey instead with reports on deadline day suggesting negotiations are already at an advanced stage between the two clubs, with the 25-year-old tipped to make the move to Craven Cottage.
Boey has struggled for regular first-team action for the German giants following his move from Galatasaray in January 2024, making just 24 Bundesliga appearances, and he was loaned back to Gala in the second half of last season.
Boey is a France youth international and came through the ranks at Rennes in his home country before going on to impress in Turkey for Galatasaray, for whom he has made 100 appearances in total, scoring six goals and registering four assists.
He has been made available for transfer on deadline day and has been training separately in recent days with Bayern attempting to find a suitor.
Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund said: "Sacha is fit, but we've decided by mutual agreement that he’ll train separately because there are some discussions taking place."
And it appears Fulham will be his destination with the Premier League side keen to recruit a right-back to bolster their defensive options.
Earlier this week, Ratiu was thought to be close to making the move to the capital but that interest has now cooled significantly and Boey is the Cottagers' top target.
Alvaro Arbeloa's side have had a disappointing start to the season, losing 3-2 to Chelsea and 1-0 to Sunderland, and it is hoped Boey will join in time to be involved in Saturday's home Premier League clash against Crystal Palace.
Fulham are 5/4 to win against the Eagles this weekend, the visitors are 21/10 and the draw is a 23/10 chance.
After two defeats so far, Fulham are available at 5/2 to be relegated, while Arbeloa's men are 2/7 to stay up.
The deal for Boey looks set to come hot on the heels of Fulham also raiding the Bundesliga for Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder Hugo Larsson, who is set to join in a deal that reportedly could be worth around £22million.
