Queensberry promoter Frank Warren has claimed that Tyson Fury will fight Anthony Joshua in 2026 on one condition.
There's no disputing that Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua would be one of the biggest fights in British boxing history. Two of the greats from the modern heavyweight era, it remains one of the most talked about potential clashes in the sport.
Saudi Arabian boxing bank-roller Turki Alalshikh hinted at a potential bout between the pair prior to Conor Benn's rematch victory over Chris Eubank Jr, while Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn has named Fury-AJ as the fight he wants for 2026.
Queensberry promoter Frank Warren added to the fire when speaking to iFL TV, claiming Fury will return to boxing and fight Joshua on one condition.
Listen, Tyson will fight if he wants to and if the money's right. It's as simple as that. He'll do what he wants to do. If the money is right, he will fight.
- Frank Warren (iFL TV)
"He's fighting anyway isn't he AJ, against Jake Paul, and he obviously wants to carry on and Tyson has indicated he wants to, but it's all subject to money.
"If he does (decide to return) then why wouldn't that fight happen."
Cash is king in boxing nowadays, as proven by AJ's impending December fight against former YouTube sensation Jake Paul, where the reported prize purse stands at a remarkable £139.5 million.
With that said, there's also no disputing that the Joshua clash could well prove to be Fury's biggest payday yet, and it may just boil down to how keen the Gypsy King is to return to the ring after back-to-back losses against Ukraine's Oleksandr Usyk.
With Joshua set to fight Paul in December, in what could be described as a warm-up fight, Warren implied that Fury too would likely make a comeback fight prior to an eventual bout with AJ, which has been mooted for September.
