Former Bolton Wanderers striker linked with European move

Former Bolton Wanderers striker Victor Adeboyejo has been linked with a shock move to Swiss champions FC Thun.

The Swiss side are looking to add more attacking options to their squad following their first ever league title last season.

Journalist Pete O'Rourke has reported that FC Thun are interested in a move for the player.

The 28-year-old is available as a free agent following his departure from Mansfield Town at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.

League One

Adeboyejo has struggled for consistency as a regular goalscoring threat for much of his career to date.

He only managed nine goals in 93 matches for Barnsley after the club signed him from Leyton Orient as a youngster.

Loan spells at Bristol Rovers and Cambridge United were disappointing during that time, but he showed promising signs when he netted 13 goals for Burton Albion in the 2022/23 season.

The following campaign saw him reach double figures again after signing for Bolton, but he managed just four goals in the 2024/25 season as his campaign was curtailed by injury.

Adeboyejo joined Mansfield on a six-month contract in January but the club opted not to extend his deal.

Nevertheless, a move abroad could prove to be the ideal opportunity for the Nigerian striker at this stage of his career.
