Swansea City v Watford Prediction

Best Bet: Swansea to win and both teams to score @ 11/4

Swansea finished 11th in the Championship last season, only nine points behind sixth-placed Hull City, who eventually went on to achieve promotion.

The Swans board decided to keep hold of Vitor Matos and that continuity seems to have worked wonders.

While the departure of midfielder Ethan Galbraith was a blow, City have reinvigorated their attack with the additions of Joseph Opoku, Moussa Yeo, Stephen Eustaquio, Leo Walta and Ross Stewart, while they also signed midfielder Elijah Just from Motherwell.

Watford's squad has been weakened by the departures of Nestory Irankunda, Imran Louza and Giorgi Chakvetadze and their poor away record is still a concern.

The Hornets only won four of their 23 away games last season and the Swans secured 39 points at home last season - the eighth-best return in the Championship.

Matos' side have kept successive clean sheets and should have enough momentum to get over the line, but Watford have what it takes to get on the scoresheet.

Alessio Dionisi's side have netted in all five of their matches this season, but their lack of results away from home and the fact they have not won in three suggests they will fall short here.

Alternative Bet: Team corners - Swansea over 5.5 @ 4/5

Swansea should be able to set a strong tempo and dominate proceedings and they should also be able to rack up some corners at home.

The Swans have won six corners or more in three of their four games so far and the Hornets have conceded 29 corners in three Championship games so far.

Forwards at both ends of the pitch should be fairly busy on Tuesday night. City's Zan Vipotnik has only started one game this season, yet he has registered nine shots in total, with seven of them coming from the bench.

He has hit the target four times and should maintain that workload even if he is named as a substitute this week. Team-mate Adam Idah has also had nine shots this season, with three of his efforts forcing the opposition goalkeeper into action.

Idah should see plenty of the ball and improve those stats, as should Watford pair Amin Nabizada and Iker Bravo.

Nabizada has registered a shot on target in four successive games, while Bravo has been shooting at will. He has let fly 14 times, with five hitting the target and if he plays with the same positive attitude, he should hit the target once more.
