Erling Haaland marked his World Cup debut with a first-half double in Norway's win over Iraq and the powerful forward should cause all sorts of problems for Senegal in New Jersey in the early hours of Tuesday.
Haaland displayed his poaching skills with two close-range finishes as Norway brushed aside Iraq 4-1 in their World Cup Group I opener.
Senegal were spirited and managed to frustrate lacklustre France for long spells of their tussle, but eventually Les Bleus broke their resistance to run out 3-1 winners.
Best Bet - Norway to win @ 6/5
Alternative Bet - Erling Haaland to score first @ 3/1
Bet Builder - Both teams to score, Over 2 goals, Erling Haaland 2+ shots on target & Under 4 cards @ 5/1
Best Bet: Norway to win @ 6/5
After swatting aside Iraq's resistance in their opening game, things are set to get tougher for Norway when they face Senegal in New Jersey, but the Vikings may well be equal to the challenge at hand.
Victory here, allied to a French success against Iraq, will lock in the top two spots in Group I with a game to spare.
Appearing at their first World Cup since France '98, Norway did all that was required of them against Iraq.
Stale Solbakken's side scored four times and might have had more, though they weren't without criticism as skipper Martin Odegaard's performance was questioned by some observers in their homeland.
Senegal were able to contain France for more than an hour before being taken down by Les Bleus and they face another stern test here.
The Lions of Teranga have now lost three straight World Cup games against European opposition and a fourth may well be imminent.
Norway averaged more than 4.5 goals per game during a perfect qualifying record, including 3-0 and 4-1 wins over Italy home and away.
Senegal's loss to France followed warm-up games where they lost 3-2 to the USA and were held scoreless by Saudi Arabia. They look likely to come up short again here.
Alternative Bet: Erling Haaland to score first @ 3/1
The World Cup debut of Haaland was eagerly anticipated and the Manchester City forward didn't disappoint as he scored two first-half goals against Iraq.
He was in the right place at the right time to apply a close-range finish after a tantalising cross from David Moller Wolfe and then showed his predatory instincts when hunting down a weak backpass and blocking Jalal Hassan's attempted clearance as the ball flew into the net.
Only a fine save late on from the Iraqi goalkeeper denied Haaland a hat-trick.
Haaland now has 57 goals in 51 international appearances for Norway and he looks sure to add more at this World Cup.
The likes of Harry Kane, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe have delivered goals aplenty in their opening outings and Haaland can keep pace in the Golden Boot race by opening the scoring for the second game in succession.
Both teams to score
Over 2 goals
Erling Haaland 2+ shots on target
Under 4 cards
Pays 5/1
Haaland will be the main man at the head of this superb Norwegian attack, which scored 37 goals in just eight qualifiers en route to these finals.
He had five shots against Iraq, with four of those on target, and is capable of at least two more now.
Both teams have scored in seven of Norway's last eight games and in three of Senegal's previous four and that appears likely again in East Rutherford.
Over 2.5 goals was a winning bet in seven of Norway's eight European qualifying games, as well as in three of Senegal's four more recent outings.
The goals may flow but perhaps not the cards. There was just one caution across the opening two games in Group I, with both of these sides avoiding the referee's attention.
Senegal made only nine fouls against France and this may be another contest with a low card count.
