Luka Modric becomes minority owner of Swansea City

2018 Ballon d'Or winner Luka Modric has become a minority owner of Championship club Swansea City.

Real Madrid midfielder Modric is set to join several different parties in becoming a shareholder at Welsh club Swansea.

While the percentage of the shares is currently unknown, one thing that is clear is that he wishes to continue his playing career at Los Blancos beyond the 2024/25 campaign.

The Croatian remains a key part of Carlo Ancelotti's plans, and while he hasn't yet put pen to paper on a new contract, it's believed that his stay at Real Madrid will be extended beyond June 2025.

Swansea are currently perched 12th in the Championship and have been absent from the Premier League since 2018.
