Leeds United v Manchester United Prediction: 27/10 for spoils to be shared at Croke Park

Pride will be at stake in Wednesday's pre-season fixture at Croke Park in Dublin as Leeds United take on Manchester United.

Over 80,000 fans are expected to pack into the iconic venue in a game that will mean plenty to both squads.

While the Red Devils consider the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool their biggest rivals, they will want revenge after failing to beat Leeds last season.

Whites fans have not had too many ties against their rivals to look forward to over the years and with the club making plenty of splashes in the transfer market, their fans will want to see another committed display.

Leeds United v Manchester United Prediction

Best Bet: Draw @ 27/10

The following of both Leeds and Man Utd in Ireland is massive and this is no ordinary pre-season friendly.

While the main objective is for both squads to avoid injury and fine-tune their preparations for the new season, neither side will want to lose this tie, especially in front of such a big crowd.

Both teams are set to play their fifth friendly of the summer, so there should be no physical advantage in Dublin.

Leeds started pre-season with a 3-2 defeat to Wrexham, but with manager Daniel Farke starting to introduce his best players to his squad, his side have since won three friendlies in a row, beating Sunderland, Liverpool and RB Leipzig.

The Red Devils were also beaten by Wrexham, this time 1-0 in their pre-season opener, but they have since hammered Rosenborg 5-0, beaten Atletico Madrid 2-1, and drawn 1-1 with European champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Both teams are just over a week away from their first Premier League fixture, so both Michael Carrick and Farke will take this tie seriously and a draw looks good value.

The first meeting between the two clubs last season finished 1-1, while Leeds ran out 2-1 winners at Old Trafford in April and last summer's pre-season clash in Sweden finished 0-0.

There was little to split both teams in all of those fixtures, so another close game should be expected in what promises to be a tense atmosphere.

Alternative Bet: Both teams to score @ 8/15

Last summer's friendly finished goalless, but that was Leeds' first friendly of the summer after promotion from the Championship.

Farke was still establishing his squad for their Premier League campaign, but this time around they look a lot more settled.

The arrival of Harry Wilson has added creativity to the Leeds midfield, and the Whites have scored nine goals in four pre-season games.

The Red Devils have only kept one clean sheet and will do well to keep Leeds at bay, but they too have been in fine scoring form, netting eight times in four matches and they will expect to hit the back of the net against a Leeds team that shipped five goals in games against Wrexham and Liverpool.

Wednesday's clash promises to be a lively affair and both Bryan Mbeumo and Dominic Calvert-Lewin look good value to hit the back of the net.

Mbeumo showed flashes of brilliance last season and should have scored more goals, but he has rediscovered his magic touch in front of goal, having netted three goals in two games.

Calvert-Lewin has been able to make an impact off the bench for Leeds and the England international has also scored three times in two games.

Both players are expected to get plenty of game time and have clearly hit their stride before the season gets underway.
